Conducting Term Final Examination
The duration of term final examination shall be of 3 hours for all
courses. The Controller of Examinations, in consultation with the Head
of the Discipline, shall prepare and circulate the schedule for final
Examinations of the courses offered by the Discipline in a particular
term at least 1 (one) week before the commencement of the Examinations.
There shall be one internal paper-setter (course teacher) and one
external paper-setter and examiner for each course. The questions shall
be equally divided into two sections A and B. In each section there
shall be 25% choice of questions.
Award of Credit
The courses in which a student obtains an "E" or higher grade will be
counted as credits earned by him/her. Obtaining an "F" in any course
will require students to repeat the course. However, in the case of
optional courses students may choose to take a substitute course, if
available.
When a student registers for a course for the second time, the marks
he/she obtains in attendance and continuous assessment will be retained
unless the student revokes his/her previous marks by written application
to the Head of the Discipline. The marks in attendance can not be
revoked.
When a student repeats a course, his/her obtained grade will be
downgraded to the letter grade immediately below his/her earned grade.
However, if the student earns an "E" in a 'repeated' course, his/her
grade will remain as it is.
