The Discipline offers a four year Bachelor
Degree program (BURP) consisting of eight terms, where evaluation is
made on the basis of Grade Point Average (GPA) system.
The BURP program is signed with an aim to create analytical ability
among the students on problems based on theoretical support and
practical field works with the ultimate objective to search for probable
solutions.
Students are taught theoretical and professional skills to cope with
real world situation. Intensive training is imparted on communication
skill, decision making and mapping skill applying GIS, remote sensing
and SPSS based data analysis supported by the use of most up to date
computer technology. Major theoretical courses have their supplementary
practical courses with real world problem exercises involving field
visit, collection of spatial and non-spatial information, processing and
analysis of data and searching for probable solutions. In addition to works, in the third year of
the program, each student has to complete a two week long internship
program in a planning/development agency in order to gain experience
about real world situation of activities and functions. In the fourth
year a student has to prepare a thesis on an issue relating to planning
